Haven't had that problem with the DMH cutouts as of yet. Installed them last fall so it's going on a year now with no complaints.

I have 2 other cars as well with cutouts, and still remove the caps manually on those cars as you have mentioned.
After having the electric cutouts on the chevelle though they are very addicting, it's great to cruise along and just hit the switch and scare the hell out of the guy that just pulled out in front of you It's better than a horn

Glad I read this before purchasing... The DMH looks real good, especially with that 4-year warranty. It appears that you can open it to any position from 0% to 100% open. For those who want to dabble with opening it partially, do they have a gauge available that shows the position of the valve?

I have seen LITERALLY dozens of QTP cutouts fail over the last few years. I have seen them deny units for repair that failed within the 90 day warranty period. All of the cars with DMH cutouts that I have tuned still have them on their cars and they are still working.

I have no bias or affiliation with any of the manufacturers, just reporting the experience(s) of customers that I have tuned.

Yes you can open them to any angle you prefer. I guess you could rig up a gauge of sorts to let you know where it's at. I just use my ears,,,it's either 100% for me or nothing at all. It reaches full open position in about 3 seconds,,,takes no time at all really.

What I did notice though just to give ya a heads up,,,you have to make sure all 3 flange bolts are tightened equally so as not to distort the housing. If not you will find that the door may open slow,,,,I had one opening faster than the other until I realized I had one too tight,,,once I went around and made sure the bolts were all snugged evenly they have worked flawlessly.

And for someone that mentioned ealier about whether there are leaks or not??? Mine don't leak a bit, when closed they are as quiet as can be.

    DMH Cutouts

I have DMH. Goes for about $350 on Maryland Speed.

No problems, comes with everything you need.

Its the only cutout on the market with a warranty.

Then I guess I was wrong, I just remember having read that somewhere. Do McCords come with the actual cutout or just the opening and closing mechanism?

That is correct,,,I got a pair of 3 inch electric cutouts,,,all the hardware, wiring, also a pair of cutouts to weld into my existing exhaust system as well as all the necessary gaskets all for $300,,,,I got a break since I paid cash and he lived 20 minutes from my house.

I simply couldn't find a better deal, along with convenience and a 4 year warranty it was a no brainer for me.

FUCK THIS! I just got my QTP cutout and it's missing the actually cutout pipe. I paid over $200 for it. I tried calling the company I bought it from and they're at the SEMA show until the 15th. Check out the link, to me that says that I should get the stainless steel cutout with it, as all the other companies do.

the other companies sell without the pipes unless you get a combo deal too...

BUT, your auction SAYS: QTP 3" ELECTRIC EXHAUST VALVE AND STAINLESS STEEL CUTOUT which is clearly both...
