    best ele. cutout location?

I ordered an electric cutout to put on the exhaust but need to know the best place to put it.
I have the stock exhaust except a performance muffler. Does it go on the Y pipe just behind the cats? And when I have it tuned next week should I make the runs with it open or closed?
    Thanks alot for the info

most people, myself included, put it almost directly under the passenger rear seat. There's a rubber grommet right above that location that lets you run the wiring into the car.

+1 Another vote for simply installing it under the rear side passenger seat. When the electric cutout finally craps out and needs to be replaced, it is also relatively easily accessible from the side of the car without a lift. Unfortunately, I have become all too familiar with that process!

I'm thinking of getting an e-cutout but my problem is I will probably be putting a XR-1 in the I pipe and I'd like to place the cut-out before the bullet just straight headers... is there a good place to put right around the split of the Y-pipe? I'm fairly concerned about noise right under my seat but I don't think I'll have it open to often with the decible level being what it will be...

my e-cutout looked like high quality stuff so I hope it doesnt leak. I put mine under the rear pass seat,VERY little room between floorboard but it doent rattle.

when I had mine welded in I knew then that at some point I'd be doing an e-cutout so I had them give it a little down angle so the motor would have a little more room.

Very good! I shoulda done the same thing, especially since my car is lowered! I didnt read anything about ground clearance when I was doing my research so it's good its mentioned hear as far as that.
