Best catback for this setup.
Okay, im currently running a catbypass with a muffler delete on my 2000 trans am(the drone drives me insane on the highway)
I purchased an off road y that bolts up to the stock manifolds, and a manual cutout(for when loud is necessary) my question is , what catback setup should I go with? I want a setup with minimal drone, not too loud at idle but pretty loud at wide open throttle.
I knowy ory will make it a bit louder, but I want something on the conservative side, since I have a cutout.
Please don't post if you're going to say "just get longtubes it's cheaper" blah blah blah etc. My car is lowered, I live in a town with bad roads, and I have $60 in my ory and cutout, it doesn't get much cheaper lol
Other than that... Any input is greatly appreciated

ls1sounds.com
gmmg
borla
magnaflow
hooker aerochamber
Now seeing how you want cheap go ahead and cross the first 2 off, but I like the sound of both of those. The gmmg sounds the best on exhaust manifolds by far.

Since you have the cutout, get a quiet catback. The Hooker catback from what I hear is pretty tame while not costing a fortune.

what about a custom set up? you can buy a muffler and some nice tips and just have a shop fab it up. shouldn't be that expensive. check youtube or ls1sounds.com for clips

They don't sponsor this site,
www.KYSpeed.com does, and has the same catback.
Buy from, and support the site that helped you along the way.

Quieter than my slowmaster was. I know they are loud and sound awesome once you get headers, but I think gmmg is way louder. Just my opinion.

If I were you I would get a loudmouth. They sound wicked bad ass on stock manifolds. Its only loud at WOT.

i know, thats why i said magnaflow isnt loud, my brother has it you can barely hear it at 70 with his 4.10's, gmmg is loud for sure but mean as hell. I like magnaflow you can tell its not stock but when you hit it you can definitely tell its not.

Yeah my buddy has LT's with magnaflow and its tame. Sounds good though, would sounds better with a cam.
This might help. As far as "loud" goes id say
loudmouth 1 or cut out---very very loud
gmmg/lm2/tsp rumbler--- very loud
flowmaster---loud
powerflo--- medium
hooker/ magnaflow--- quiet
slp dual dual---stockish

yep agreeed also another set up if you want to be able to be heard at 70 but can still easily listen to the radio is what i got it a lil bit more pricier, 3 inch duals x pipe over axle with 2 4" magnaflow bullets... it does get really loud at WOT
