if you van find an Ls6 intake used for a good price I'd use it instead (unless you going to be heavily modded). the aluminum intakes get a lot of heat soak. try the for sale section in here, or even ebay. if your looking for the gaskets, give summit racing a call (1-800-230-3030)

Waiting to see numbers and reviews on the wieland street warrior myself. Either just came out or will be released in the next month. From what i have read it is suppost to be a verry competive manifold.

i went from the stock ls6 intake on mine to the bbk ssi and don't regret it at all. it looks pretty cool and performs real well especially with the complimenting parts (throttle body, mass airflow sensor, and cold air intake)

I've wondered the same thing about heat soak, I'd love to see the real numbers from the same motor, hot run and cold run, then just swap the intake and compare performance

any mechanic will tell you that you lose horsepower when the intake gets heat soaked, would be cool to run a seperate radiator like the cobras, to get the heat down if you wanted to go through the trouble. Almost went that route myself.

but here is the question...once you start to move...your getting a shit ton of cold air pushed in there...i herd heat soak is only a issue when stop and go is a issue....plus almost every mechanic will preach about back pressure being good

well said. i think the new weiand will be a sweet intake manifold if you have the patience to wait for it. i certainly didn't. but if someone does, strap it on and let us all know what you think.
like i've said i havn't had too much of a problem with heat soak with my bbk. just take a couple extra minutes to let it cool at the track between passes. and i definately havn't had any problems with heatsoak on the road with it...even in my almost monthly 15 hour drive from north carolina to michigan.

The metal intakes like, bbk, weiand and others look so much better than the plastic ones. I think I will go with a composite one and paint it silver to get the metal look. If you want to sell that LS6 intake let me know? thisisthewayilive

Heat soak. . . . . . . . . . Step that kit up to a real shot and watch it frost up from all that frozen oxygen that just passed through it.

you could go a step further and have it metalic powdercoated, polished and chromed

stick with your stock and get the fast 90 or 92 if you plan on a cam or heads.
