I've heard good things about the OBX headers. Never seen them in person but people that have gotten them say good things about them.

Just for clarity, I think he's asking about the OBX version that comes with the Y, not the headers only version that you're installing Joshua. As you explained to me in your thread they are different designs.
I ordered the set the OP is talking about, they have not arrived yet, but as soon as they do I'll post up with some pics. It's been claimed by some that this version of the OBX header has smaller primarys, so you may want to hold off on ordering...... on the other hand you may see it like I do, there's been many positive reports on these headers, and it's worth the cost of these sets to have them in hand and see for yourself.Last edited by Wheels; 02-14-2010 at 02:18 AM.

Awaiting the results. I want to do headers before the snow melts here.

Mine showed up today..........
Negatives I see so far
-The Y is 2 3/4" instead of the usual 3. However, it may work out to be a wash because there is no crushed section in it to make ground clearance.
-There is no "merge spike" in the collectors
Positives I see so far
- Great welds
- All extremely well polished
- 1 1/2" Primarys? ......... nope
For $200 I got 304 stainless headers and a Y of seemingly great quality....... am I happy? You're damned right I am.
Eagle, if you're reading this, can you post up the pics you took of the set you had again please? I never got to see them and they sound quite different from what I've recieved.

Hello fellas....I just got my stainless obx headers installed today! I am very happy with the quality of these headers and they were not as bad as I thought to install not that easy either but oh well. As for the engine performance gains....WOW! The car sounds awesome and it feels much more alive and pulls ALOT harder...it seems to lean out at the higher rpm's though, so I am considering sending away for a mail order tune...."tunedbyfrost.com"..

Just got back from my trip from georgia with my new LT and ory setup. No probs yet with 2500 miles put on the OBX set up. Even ran over a deer and it held up (straddled over). damn thing was dead in the middle of the road at night and didnt see it until i was right on top of it. Had blood al over the place but everything held up. Whats cool though is that the slight tapping on the driver side from the ypipe went away after that lol gonna get an oil change in 500 and check everything over to make sure no leaky. EGR and AIR are still intact.

Today I sent my PCM away to Steve at tunedbyfrost.com...pretty excited, I'm curious to see how much of an improvement this mail order tune will make on the overall performance of my car......can't wait!

Thanks. so yeah, if you have a little ypipe bang still even if you got a hanger on the driver side... just find some fresh road kill and it will solve the problem
in all seriousness though, i did have to replace some plasitc rear bumber rivets. But thats it. I needed to add a few anyway lol. CArs sounds freaking even better now that everthing settled into place. Im still gonna add some HF cats though. just to smoothe out the note a little. As for the muffler, still not sure if i like the flowmaster yet. It just doesnt sound right to me. not mean enough and a little backpressure fluttering going on if that makes any sense. but the intall was a sucess
