All of the sudden...
I just get my gears on like a day ago and I'm driving down the street and my balancer bolt fly's right outta the car onto the street!?! I pull over immediately and find it. The balancer, pulley, and belts seem fine. Why the hell did it back out all of the sudden? Now I gotta run there in the morning and pray some thread lock will do the trick. Any ideas?

Are you running an aftermarket pulley? If so did you replace the stock crank bolt with a new one? If you did, did you use thread lock and follow the instructions that came with the pulley? If not that can happen. It happened to me, with my ASP. But the pulley itself came off!!! When I was driving!! And it comes loose at the track all the time, I have to keep an eye on it. I did order a pin kit, but I am not home to put it on yet. Just my $.02

Aftermarket pulley = Yes, an ASP
Threadlock = Yes, red RTV Sealant
Replaced stock bolt w/ new, I torqued it down w/ an impact gun...

RTV Is Silicon. It wont lock the threads... You need RED Thread locker! And a new bolt now mostlikly too.

Prolly cause you used an impact gun on it. I doubt that torques it as high as a person using a long breaker bar, which is how I did mine. 6,500rpm limiter and no problems.

wow.. that really sucks man. How did you notice that it fell out if your belt and pulley stayed in together? I dont think I would have even noticed. I hope you get it figured out!

i was with him when it fell out, luckily we were comming off the highway down an off ramp and almost at a complete stop when it came off. so we heard it hit the ground and go rolling.
i had done his rear the day before so the first thing was to check the rear/brakes but didnt see anything loose.we walked back up the street to the highway off ramp and took a look around and when i saw the bolt and picked it up and it was pretty warm it just kinda clicked as to what it was.
alls i can say is its a good thing we actually found the bolt otherwise niether one of us prolly would have ever thought to check the balancer

Yea, it sucked... Now I'm paranoid and I keep checkin on it, and keeping an ear out for a bolt flying out from under the car. BTW, I meant Red ThreadLocker. We used about a 3inch spread on the bolt which is kinda overkill, but it seems to be doing the trick for now...
