air removal question

So i removed the air pump and hoses as described here. I got a question that i cant find the answer to tho. As i pulled the big air hose off (the one with the tee fitting and goes from drivers side to passenger side) i noticed that a smaller hose came with it. (it was looped with a connector with the big hose) The smaller hose came from the drivers side from from a black nipple on top of the valve cover to a tee then two fittings on the passenger valve cover.(closer to the back of valve cover) Can someone please tell what these hoses are and what can i do with them? My car is a 98 ta

is it possible your talking about the pcv hoses?? they have nipples that go into the valva covers like you are saying here

on the Divertor valve selnoid.....there are 2 nipples for vacum hoses....one hose goes to the back of the manifold....the other hose goes to the divertor valve (that T thingy) you can just plug the one nipple to the DV....or remove the DVS and plug the nipple behind the manifold......your choice.......(pick plug the nipple on DVS)

I actually dont think its related to the egr or air system, it happened to come out when i pulled on the air line running behind the engine. Pcv? Vaccuum lines?

theres only 2 vacuum lines on the intake in the back. one is for the brake booster, bout foot and a half long with angles bent into it, and about 1/2 inch inside diameter. and another is 1/8th inch line for the hvac

i dont recall a diverter solenoid on my car (keep in mind its a 98' it could be different than others) I cant also feel any nipples on the intake manifold. It seems to run from valve cove to valve cover...

the HVAC line is T'd to go to the DVS .......mines a 2000

also, its a very spongy, soft rubber hose with a plastic pipe running inside of it

spongy line is 100% pcv line...its insulated

If it's connected to the TB, then yes you do. I ask for a pick because it would help clarify what you are looking at.

your right steve, its a spongy line, but only to insulate the plastic prebent pipe inside of it. now that i have that figured out. what is the exact path for this hose/line?

it is connected to a nipple behind the throttle body on the passenger side. and has little flat clips that connect into the manifold itself then a hose plugs into the nipple pointing towards the front of the car, then wraps around to the back of the intake and the plastic nipple will plug into the top right corner of the valve cover underneath the cowling
i can get you a pic if needed. as my intake is off the car currently
