? about 853 heads with this setup

I have a 99 fbody with stock 853 heads. My setup soon to be installed is TSP T2 cam pkg, ls6 intake, ls6 oil pump, ls2 chain, pulley, and LTs. I'm guessing that the 853s won't flow better than 241s or 243s obviously. Are there any issues with stock 853s and this setup to be aware of? I can get a set of 241s new dirt cheap. Is it worth it?

    Thanks

Why would 853's flow less than 241's they are the same head.
I have seen No substantial evidence that the early heads flow less.

If they are the same head then why did the casting number change? Do have any info to offer in this thread?

The part # changed on the Cams in `98-99 also but the cam is the same.
GM changes part # periodically due to enginering changes.
Unless you are going to LS6's or ported LS1 heads it is not worth the effort to change them.

Ok, thanks. I'll use the 853s until I get some more coin together.

    241 are supposed to be a 5rwhp gain(if that)
if you are going to port a LS1 head then 241 are the ones you want
but I picked up a set of 243(LS6) for $400 ($200 each) and they're supposed to give 10-15 hp bare and much more ported

I am still running the big cam I have and stock 853 and have no issues
I have a full bolt on with cam A4 with 3800 stall and I have making right at 400rwhp!

and the 400.5rwhp was before the true duals I had built so I am hoping for about 5-10rwhp more
