98 trans am pacesetter Y pipe & headers install

Hello all. i was looking through past threads but couldn't find an answer for a question that I have. I have a 1998 trans am and am wanting to install pacesetter longtube headers and off road Y pipe. I already have a magnaflow catback. My question is: Is this a bolt on only or will the y pipe require cutting and/or welding? I've seen other Y pipe/header combos that say cutting/welding Y pipe is required for 98-00 models whereas it is not with 01-02. I'm hoping the pacesetter will just bolt on otherwise I'm gonna have to have someone else do it for me. Surely there is someone out there with a 98-00 trans am that has installed the pacesetter lt headers/y-pipe. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Its a bolt on, but the Magnaflow catback will possibly have to be welded to the y-pipe. It will depend on if its currently welded into place, or whether its just currently clamped. The headers and off road ypipe are just bolted up though.

My girl drove her Trans Am to the exhaust shop on open headers after the install and they welded up the Y pipe to the headers, and clamped on the catback.

I have a 98 with Pacesetter LT and TS&P ORY. There are a couple of stickies that have good info and I have a tread in the past about my install. Any questions PM me.

Use band clamps and don't weld anything. You will be so glad when you have to drop the tranny or tank......
