    The only changes they made were a swap out to an F-body oil pan, a new timing set, car style intake for hood clearance and then after some testing on the dyno a new cam was installed. Probably want to avoid the DOD (displacement on demand) motors, although you can disable the system. They also recommended a donor engine with the 799 heads.

    I think GMHTP's went somewhere north of 850 h.p. running E85.

    for turbo'ing the 5.3...

    Rod bolts, valve springs (or cam AND springs), rod bolts (if cam is done and power-band dictates) and open up that top ring gap to .026-.028" to keep the ends from butting under boost heat. Doing this with methanol, an M6 and about 16-17psi will make 700rwhp and it will live there with good tuning.
