    160 theremostat install help

    I am wondering if this is hard and if anybody knows where to find a site with good directions

    Shouldn't be too hard. I believe with the LS1, you have to replace the whole housing unit though. On the LT1, you just pull the stat out and put the new one in. Well, that's basically how it is with the LS1 too.
    Drain coolant
    Unbolt t-stat and housing
    Pull up
    Replace with new t-stat
    Button everything back up
    Refill coolant
    Bleed air
    Get reprogrammed for cooler t-stat and fans

    I see that you have a 2000 Camaro. On the 2000 LS-1, the entire stat. unit has to be replaced. However, it is not a big job. It will take you 15 or 20 minutes. I didn't drain out any water before I did the job on mine several years ago and I only lost no more than 12 oz. of water.
