i had to switch from 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 headers for my procharger build...i sold my 1 3/4 headers before my new build was done so i threw the 1 7/8 headers on my cammed 346ci...i lost 3 tenths in the 1/4mile.

Was the weather similar both days?
Was the trap speed the same, or did you lose speed too?
    Short times the same also?

Just curious...I believe there is something to be said for each size primary.

both 60 foot times were a 2.0....they were both at the same dragstrip but, it was around 80 degrees with the 1 3/4 headers and around 65 degrees with 1 7/8 headers...this should have caused better times with the same 60 foot times. it dropped 4mph.

Good to know. Obviously other factors play a role in the DA, but that about sums it up.

Were you by chance tuned with the 1 3/4 longtubes on the car?

something is off there is no reason it will drop 4mph...your tune must be jacked or your not being honest about the DA conditions...i have never seen this most people stay the same or pickup with 1 7/8 headers

Ya I'm a little skeptical too. That's a huge drop in MPH for what was very little change.

The dyno comparisons I've seen showed very favorable to the 1 7/8 headers on the little 346.
