    Question `02 2500HD 4x4 6.0l

    Hey folks, first timer here.

Been trolling for a bit and now am ready to ask my first question.

Being retired my HD doesnt see a lot of miles but that doesnt mean I would`nt want to try to get a little more power out of it. And the vast amount of information on this site seems to be a good way to find it. The truck isnt used to pull anything more then a small pop up camper a few times a year. And that is mostly freeway.

Running the 4L80E/4.10 gears with 285/75/16 tires. A bit of suspension work. Stock exhaust.

Used a Superchip handheld. Firmed up the shifts, compensated for the taller tires and dialed in what they call the "performance" curve. Thus running 93 octane fuel.

The truck does see a bit of off roading so an open CA intake I dont think is a good idea.

Thought about the 1.8/5 rockers but from what I have read on this site they do not add much.

Perhaps a cat back exhaust ? If so what brand ?
I really dont want to get into the cams/heads primarly just bolt ons.

    Any thoughts or advice ?

    Thanks

    Welcome to the site.

Your best bet it to start with Intake and Exhaust mods and go from there. I see that you already have the Superchips tune, which is good too.

I'd say go with a K&N FIPK Intake for starters. You can get one off of eBay Motors for a very reasonable price, and not only does it add significant power over the restrictive stock airbox, but you will most likely get better fuel economy as well.

Second would be the exhaust. They do wonders for power, sound, and efficiency of an engine. Not sure if they make a Borla system for your truck, they are one of the best, but also one of the most expensive. Check out your options, just about all the brands of catback Exhaust systems are good.

    Hope that helps.
