that's what I'm thinking too but discount only shows 305's in Nitto's for 18" rims. I think that's to wide for those rims.

I just looked in my jeg's catalog and they recommend a 9.5-11" rim for the 305/45/18's. Those were actually the ones he wanted although I think those are some tall ass tires. Like 28" tall. He has a 3.90 gear in his a4 so the reduction in gear wouldn't hurt him much. I just think they're too tall and too wide for that rim. He's kinda screwed though from what I can tell. I don't see any nitto DR's that are 285's.

his best bet is two get two more larger rims for the track, plus it will keep the miles down on them. 315/35 17/ in nitto, and in stock everywhere.
that should work, well unless he goes 15's which in the long run may be a better set up.

well, the whole purpose he was looking at Nitto's is so he can get more mileage out of them and not have to swap back and forth. I'm thinking unless he goes to different rims though he's probably screwed.

I ran the 305 Nitto's on the 9.5'' Y2K rims with no issues. The Nitto 305's are more narrow than other company's 305's. They fit well.

305/35/18's then? That sure seems wide for a 9.5" rim. I see people saying they have 18x10" Y2K rims, where are they getting those at? I told him this week he'd probably have to find wider rims to run Nitto's. He wants the drag radial but bfg's wear pretty quick.

the problem with that is those tires would be 3" narrower (if that's a word ) than his stockers. 3" is quite a bit to be giving up.
