Why does the Corvette have 2 Z packages? Z06 and Z51? My SS is jealous

Z06 and Z51, why are there 2 packages for the vette? is the z51 any faster than the base vette? I know it has upgraded brakes, but what else?

It has better suspension. (Stiffer)

I still don't think it should have 2 z's and everybody else has 1. As a matter of fact it may be getting a third. Z07

The Z51 is the top of the line suspension package for the Vettes I believe

Z06 refers to the model of car: different motor, 6 spd, etc.
Z51 is a suspension option that provides a thicker sway bar, bigger brakes and beefier suspension intended for slalom/mild road racers etc. I went with the Z51, but wound up replacing a lot of it like Wilwood brakes and QA1-12 way adjustable shocks which are better for drag racing. The Z51 also includes some cool extras like power steering cooler and heavier radiator.
