Question about running front 17s on the rear of C5

I have a 99 C5, I am wanting to mount some M/T DOT ET Streets on the stock set of my front 17's and run them out back at the track. I do not plan on putting the tire pressure sensors on them because I will switch wheels at the track. Does anyone see any problems with this? Will it work? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks

I have seen 17" zr-1'a all around on a corvette with street tires. I have also seen 17's with slicks mounted to them. Gives the tire more sidewall if you go with a smaller rim.

Ok, thanks for the info. The M/T bias ply dot's have a pretty thick sidewall, it should even out pretty well.

sounds like right way to go !! like someone posted earlier, some hot guys with zo6/zr1 -using 17 inch drag tires ,on old zr1 wheels/not new zr1/wheels.. if anything dont go taller- maybe even smaller height , to give slight lower, rear gear, for the drags.. !! rkvette

You seemed to miss the part I highlighted in my quote of you mentioning hot guys

the hot guys are fastest 20 corvettes- zo6's on corvette form. they all are verify/ with drag slips, posted !! pure stock and just with drag tires..also same corvette form also have top /quickest zr1 and regular c/6 vettes.. rkvette

I run 17 inch all the way around with 295x45x17 M/T DRs on rear. Love them
