In defense of that guy who is named Gene is very cool.As you guys might not know all 2005-2006 Corvettes Coupes and Z06's are recalled for the roofs seperating(delaminating) His roof was starting to seperate so all he just did was make it a targa till his new roof came in.....His car is one of the nicest Z's around....Black with black wheels.

absolutly even if the top was already having problems there was a time and place for removing it and the side of a busy highway was not it

Its his car, he has every right to do it where, when and how he wants to. I don't like seeing it either but from my understanding he routinely runs with (and beats) those exotics driving with him (the flybys weren't by chance). They were probably engaging in spirited driving when the roof started flapping in the wind, ultimately GM needs to be more cautious in the QC department.

Shame on GM for having that problem on their best vehicle in the first place.

hahaha that's great, and I say that if I had a zo6 vette with a roof that had messed up twice and another one was on order that I woud kick the shit out of the roof too. How many chances in life are you going to get to kick a seventy thousand dollar car and have it covered? plus all of the frustration of the roof breaking twice, that roof would have been outa there

    ding.ding.ding.ding.ding.

    winner!

Roof started to come off. Brought it to the dealer. They tried the gm repair which was a bottle of foam I sh!t you not. Dealer said that wasn't cutting it. They had to order a new roof and said it was going to be a long while. In the process of trying the foam repair they removed the headliner and several other interior pieces. (love how many of you thought i kicked right though an unmolested roof) I told the dealer I'm not having the car sit here for months. They taped the top panel on and gave it back to me. The headliner and everything else I put in my garage. Well the tape didn't hold all that well so I put a piece on the outside as it would help better...and it did. Then I went on my usual weekend run of excessive speeds and the roof started to come off. In fact the roof was already starting to tear away around 80...so 180 wasn't going to happen. The tape got soo messed up we had to hold it down with our hands as slow as 40. Now realize in the first place the passenger side of the roof was the issue...the drivers side was fine. There was no other option than removing completely the panel before it flew off and killed someone.

If you were in the same situation as me you would have done the same thing. If you're saying otherwise you're either a liar or a pussy.

As far as GM is concerned I obviously didn't release the video until after the car was all fixed. So I sat on this awesome video for 2 months...yeah that's how long it took to get the new roof in. So now I have yet another great video (ford GT race was also me), a fixed 2nd gen roof, free oil changes for life, an extended bumper to bumper warranty till 2011 or 87k miles, and a fat check for dealing with the problem.

p.s. yes i pay for the car and i work hard for it.

    any questions?
