    How do they hold up?

I have a friend of mine that is trying to get rid of his 2005 Supercharged Corvette. He had it dynoed and it came out to be about 500 hp. The question I have is how does the rear end hold up on these cars? It's an automatic, and it literally has been babied all of it's life. How well will the drive train hold up with some occasional "spirited driving" by me if I do decide to take the plunge....thanks for any help in advance!~Chris

Of course it does but if the rear is going to blow up, like a 10 bolt then....i'll have to dump some money into it!

The 2005 differential was weaker than 2006 and up. They changed the casting to make for a stronger rear after many broke. An automatic is a lot easier on the rear but with that much power if you have traction who knows. You could probably find a used rear from a 2006 or newer and put it in for insurance.
