    Gear ratio? and DR's?

Looking at getting some new gears, whats good? 3.73, 3.90, 4.10?
also what drag radials fit stock C5 wheels? or do I have to get wheels to fit my DR's?

car is a m6, with bolt ons.

    thanks for the help again

    I just installed 3.90 in my 98 A4, and love them...If I had a M6 i would not hesitate to put in the 4.10.

On the vette what is the rim size 8 x 17 ?

the rear wheels are 18x9.5. the reason i was wondering about the gear ratio, is if i go with 4.10's, how long will i be in first gear? would i have to shift immediately after the launch? or would i have a couple of seconds?

    thanks

I would judge this on how much power you plan to make. With 4.10's and 500+ rwhp I can guarantee you that you are going to have a nightmare hooking up anywhere. But under 500rwhp they can really make that difference you need to win races.

I agree, I went from 342's to 390's then back to 373's. If I were doing it all over again I would stick with 342's. 410's or 390'2 might work fine with a stock motor, but 1st gear is very short and a pia on the street.
Little Blue Vette, Super Charged, Cammed, sprayed with meth, 373 gears, tubbed with 345's and someother stuff.

I'd like to put 3.73's on my Z06. I've had 3.73's in my Camaro, and I liked them. It's a good compromise. I go thru the 1/4 mile able to shift into 4th gear with enough room to spare with the 3.73's. With my stock 3.42's I shift into 4th almost at the finish line. With 4.10's you'd probably be going thru the finish line at the top of 4th gear almost close to shifting into 5th gear

I'd like to either go 3.73's or 3.90's for my particular application. I only plan on getting my Z06 to the 400rwhp level by just adding bolt-ons and a cam, I may go with ported heads, but that's unlikely...

You can go 17" on the back with either MT Drag Radials or BFGoodridge. 18" is also fine, but most people find 17" to be better at the track...
