Fast Corvette!!

Hey guys, the other day I was seeing a show on SPEED called "Passtime." Basically a guy brings his car to run a 1/4 mile. There are 3 judges and they all get to ask him 1 question each on his car. Then they guess what he will run. So there was a guy with a blue 2000 corvette (not a Z06). He claimed he was 100% stock and nothing done to the car. Turns out he ran a 12.23!! I thought maybe he was hiding some details, but could an 00 vette do a 12.2 stock?? And there was another guy with an 02 ws6 with a exhaust and lid that went a 13.5.

There's no chance a non-Z06 C5 is running that time stock, PERIOD. The guy was full of crap.

I've watched that show many times. It's a good show, but you'll notice that they never have them pop the hood. He could have been running it on the bottle, (just one example of many possibilities of performance mods) and no one would have been the wiser.
