My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

To each their own, but I don't like it. Glad there is only 1 of them. No need to see that more than once.

There have been 3-4 companies out there making these for several years now. I grabbed a couple of their brochures while at Barrett Jackson earlier this year. Their 66-67 corvette conversions are absolutely beautiful, and the 58-60 conversion looks pretty damn good too. About $30,000 for the conversion on top of the purchase price of the car, and converting the current Z06 seems to be the most popular right now. There are even a few that show up every week at the Scottsdale cruise on Saturday nights.
As far as this one goes in the picture, I didn't look closely but see enough to know that's pretty bizzar. Why you would cross a 57 chevy with a 59 chevy is beyond words.

Here's what I'm talking about. This particular one is a 63 coupe (split window), they are also made in roadster form. Depending on the model, they have the appropriate hood as well (you can see the 63 style hood on this one) but they are also made with the 427 hoods etc....
Like I said, gorgeous and very well executed....

Why would anyone hack up a beautiful 63 split window coupe to make that turd.

They don't. These companies build molds specifically to fit the structure of the C6 chassis, it's all completely new stuff. Besides, you couldn't take "real" C2 body panels and stick them on the C6 infastructure,,,,it just wouldn't fit, the C2's are much smaller cars to begin with, completely different roof lines, windshields, etc....
These things are works of art. To call it a turd is premature. You really need to see them in person to appreciate the workmanship involved. Personally, I don't care for the C6 body style, too bland, no chrome, so it's a huge improvement in my eyes, down right sexy.

Here is a version of a 67 roadster with the 427 hood. This particular one at the Mecum Auction, and they have crossed Barrett Jackson here occasionally, but most don't exchange hands often at all, they are sold straight from the manufacture. Absolutely beautiful. But don't take my word for it, just check out what people are willing to pay for these things You have all the classic looks and style with character, yet all modern drivetrain underneath with all your creature comforts to enjoy. It's basically what people all over the country are building for themselves and calling them pro touring cars. The only difference is instead of bringing the chassis/drivetrain to the classic car, they are bringing the classic car to the chassis/drivetrain. It's all about how you want to look at it.

Here's a 62, not bad looking, several of these running around the Scottsdale area currently, but I've always been a 63-67 fan myself.

Here's a brochure of one manufacture building these cars with there website listed on the brochure. Google it and read up on it to get a better idea. I actually have one of these brochures I grabbed from Barrett Jackson.

I love the silver split window! You get the classic lines of old school design, and the modern drive train reliability. Awesome!
