Jetstream Blue Metallic- 2008 Z06 Corvette
With the release of the new Grand Sport, it is presummed that the sales of the Z06 would drop. Seeing that the wide body is now obtainable at a lower price.

Jetstream Blue Metallic- 2008 Z06 Corvette
You make a good point, but remember that until the ZR1 was released, the only way to obtain the wide body was through the purchase of a Z06. Although I've never tracked my own car, I was more interested in having the best Corvette (at the time) and the most powerful one too. Not to mention that I find the base model Corvette a little bit boring compared to the wide body.
I think that most of us Z06 owners are a bit more into the hard core aspect of the Vette, as oppossed to the casual buyer who will only "cruise" his weekend toy.
It takes a bit more of a love for performance than purely an affection for cosmetic aspirations to throw down the extra cash for the Z06.

I know the economy sucks but its not helping that the C6 is going into its 7th year of production. Don't get me wrong I luv the C6 z06 and zr1, you all who have one are truly lucky bastards and I hate each one of you.

it could also be due to the fact more people willing to go buy a used vette and since the body style has been out they r out there. on a side note, When I Get a corvette it will b a z06 there just is no other choice
