I went from a 3.42 to a 4.10 on a 90 model Camaro I had, and noticed only a small difference in torque gains. I don't think that 3.42 to 3.73 would be worth the expense in my opinion. I would go 4.10 if anything.

You should see a good improvement if going to 3.42

Depending on your stock final drive ratio and the one you're going too, it's one of the biggest SOTP gains you can get. When I had my Trans Am, I raced another car that had the same mods as me except he had 3.73 gears to my 3.23, and he walked me pretty hard.

However, I believe doing "gears" in a Vette is significantly more expensive, as it's not just a differential with a ring and pinion gear, it's a transaxle, meaning the transmission and rear axle are one unit. I haven't looked into it much, but I think you have to change the whole gear unit out for some hefty $$$.

Someone please tell me I'm wrong on this though, I'd love some taller gears (6th is useless until 70mph)
