I voted for the coupe only because I need my targa roof.
-98 GTP Coupe. Silvermist and stock.
-89 GTA*** L98, P1-SC, 24# SVO's, MSD 6-A, March underdrive pulleys, Edelbrock headers/catback and some other goodies.

Jetstream Blue Metallic- 2008 Z06 Corvette
I've had Convertables, and well I still DO have one, it's my DD! My last Camaro was a T-Top. TRUST me on this one. BUY the Z06!!!!!!!!
I have NEVER for one second wished that I hadn't bought the bad boy Corvette, you won't miss not being able to pop the top. I've owned two Targa cars in the past too just for the record, so this is experience talking here.
Let me say this one more time.
Buy the Z06!!!!!!!!

Jetstream Blue Metallic- 2008 Z06 Corvette
Interesting enough, just two days ago I was looking at an 06 at a dealership for my next door neighbor. He has a C5 Coupe and fell in love with my Z06 the day I brought it home, and said that if I ever see a used yellow one, to let him know.
So I checked it out. No external differances that I could detect at all. However the interior was a bit upgraded with a Carbon Fiber cover now being on the center console whereas the 06 is just a rather plain gray plastic. I was unable to sit in the car and was only looking thru the window, as I was still running my route and in a hurry.
As for the horsepower making up for not being able to pop the top, in my opinion, yes.
But a Z06 is so much more than just 70 addition HP.
There's the aluminum frame, Carbon Fiber front fenders, balse wood floor pans, those beautiful drilled rotors and 6 piston front and 4 piston rear calibers.
Not to mention that HAND BUILT 427 505HP engine! Complete with the name of the proud gentleman who built it just for you right on the intake manifold.
I could go on about the suspension and so forth, but you can Google all that stuff. This is Chevy's race car for the street. Go to Youtube and watch it spank so many exotic cars in completly stock form and you'll want one for yourself.
By the time you're ready to get one, maybe GM will have brought back the "Employee pricing" program, for which the Corvette and the Z06 qualifies, and you can save up to $20,000.00 just as I did over the sticker price.
Remember, with the economy in the condition it's in, and if you can afford to do it, you can really save alot of money right now, as most people aren't in the position to spend that kind of money.
One last note: head down and drive BOTH cars at your friendly Chevy dealership. be careful though, that's how I wound up with that pretty young lady in the Avatar you see over there <
Good Luck!

well if the only difference between an 06 and 08 is the interior thats no big deal at all. I have driven an 06 and 08 C6 and fell in love with them. I guess ill have to try out a Z and choose for myself.

Thanks for the compliments! If you look carefully at the pics again, you'll notice that the "garage" was converted way back when they built the house for my wife and her first husband 20 something years ago into another bedroom. Almost evryone on the block took that option. So no, I don't have a garage, and I checked with the City, and I can't build one either, due to ordinances. The only option we have is to change it back into a garage.
We do have a huge backyard, and I have considered building one there, but the alley is not kept up by the City and I would only take our truck down that allley, never the Z06.
Why not a "Tough-Shed" you may be thinking? I have to have the ability to tear that thing down in a moment's notice in case a neighbor complains. it is actually illegal, but the City guy said he'd allow it UNTIL someone complained. He's a car guy and liked the Vette
I absolutely HATE having it there, but I have both of GM's car covers on it, and it's better than nothing.
They call this being between a rock and a hard place.
Thanks again though.
