yeh, still stock tranny with 73k miles,1st is fine, 2nd this things a rocket, after that honestly i'm ready to get out of it on the highway, we'll save the high speeds for the track,
the wifes trailblazer ss with a tune, converter and 100 shot ran high 7s in the 1/8, it don't stand a chance against this twin hairdryer beast

blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
well the corvette uses the same 4l60e trans as the f-body..but the vette 60e has some reinforced parts like the input shaft ect...so any place that builds 4l60e trans are good. rossler transmissions are good.

http://www.rosslertrans.com/
that is the link..that is the only trans place i know of, very good builders from what i hear. if you plan on really really building your car..and want a near built-proof trans then look into the 4l80e....that trans is a beast.

no pics yet, has anyone heard of these guys
http://www.dynotech-eng.com/index.htm
they seem to have alot of upgrades for the vette
what will the stock axles hold? and are there any upgrades for these
i'm sure this thing will get its share of launchs with stickys on it at the track
i don't mind putting something to the test at the track, my last project was a 96 4wd cummins with 4 et streets that pulled 1.50 60s and ran 6s@ over 100 in the 1/8
thanks for all the input

After three almost stock 4L60E's I also went to a RPM level 5 tranny and it has held together just fine. I figured the first thing I would blow would be the
stock 6-speed differential I put in a few years ago and bought a second one as a back-up, well it's still in the box it came in. I think I'll get it rebuilt with lower gears. BTW, kicking down your tranny is a blast, BUT very hard on it!!!Michael
