bad ass car!!
as long as you have the $$ to fix shit that breaks on a modded car then go for it... as for it being too much for a 19 year old, only one way to find out
I'd say as long as you drive it like a sane person you should be fine. Ive driven a 700+ hp turbo car and it can be scary shit... but fun as hell too!

I'm 20 and I'll tell you straight up that most likely it is way too much for a 19 year old. It's too much for me and I'm a conservative driver. I don't street race or anything like that even.
I'd say pass it up. Especially if it'll be your only car. Not to mention it'll cost a ton to fix.

Why take out a loan that big for a damn fair weather car? 25k loan is going to rape you monthly unless you have an awesome, STABLE job! Stupid IMO, I'm 22 and have made some bad mistakes, think about the long run. Car is modded and your going to be tempted to do some stupid $hit with that much power. When your our age it's all about "who has the bigger balls" but it's just not the case. For a car like that you want to make sure you have the cash in hand. Not cash in hand because of a huge loan.
My mistake was taking out a 21k loan on a truck. 6 yr loan and I'm paying 420 a month with a damn good interest rate. 420 a month for a truck for the next 6yrs of my life that is just going down in price just like that Vette.
I have a good built 67 Mustang I paid cash for as my play car. Built a 351W for it, cash in hand also.Last edited by zggill04; 10-13-2008 at 12:51 PM.

2000 Grand Prix GTP- 2000 Trans Am WS6 M6
480 CI? I don't even think the LSX Block can bored/stroked out to that size...might be a 408
Also, what is a T-76 Transmission? The T-56 is the M6 that is standard in our cars and they can be upgraded to handle higher hp, but that vette is an automatic.
Things to look into if you go to look at it.

I hope you plan on getting a job as a doctor or an attorney to afford the insurance on that car at your age... Plus payments will probably be around 650 a month... that's not even counting maintenance. Plan on living with mom and dad for a while if you buy that car. It is bad ass though.

I dont know you but your 19 I doubt you can afford that car even though you might think you can now..........On the other hand go for it the economy is in the shitter and the banks will loan my 6 year old cousin a 29k loan to buy that car......If that is going to be your dd your a dumb ass for even considering it.

I'm 19, and unless I was a rich kid who could afford it, another car for a dd, a truck, and a trailer for the thing...I wouldn't buy it. I'm still scared of my lightly modded LS1 on the street. That thing would be track only for me. Plus if it's your only car...you're fucked on a rainy day. Don't even think about putting 700rwhp on wet pavement.
Not to mention I know firsthand how easy it is to have your baby taken from you by another stupid driver and get it pinned on you. And I'll tell you right now, the insurance company won't give a damn about the turbo set up, they'll just give you what they say a stock C5 with X miles on it is worth...and that won't be $30k
I say if you can afford that...buy a plain C5 (or maybe a C6 if you really are that well off) and enjoy yourself with the extra cash. 300 days out of the year you'll still be the fastest thing you see anyway..

Im 20 as well and I'm telling u to keep ur trans am playa...that corvette is bad ass but u don't want it...i mean u want it but it'll get u in more trouble then anything else. Lets just say u get the loan for 25k for five years, you are looking at payment of at least $500-$600 not to mention insurance for her which will be outrageous. One like her can be yours...one day.
