2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 - Last Off the Line
2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 - Last Off the Line
MY Garage's Commemorative Edition 2004 Corvette Z06 is THE last one in productionFor years, the search for the last Corvette of a generation has been an adventure for Corvette lovers. Discovering what the last VIN number is of the last-ever Vette built on that platform has been the easy part. The hard part-finding the car that matches that VIN-makes searching for a needle in a haystack look easy. (Especially if, when found, that last-ever car is not intact, with any unique parts scattered far and wide.)

i liked my c5/zo6 2004 [carbon fiber hood] like the picture you posted .. it was the best, of the c/5... i met with this man,[bob mcdorman], when we were at bowling green [picking up my/his 50th anniv corvette conv.] who has the worlds greatest chevrolet collectIon !! , many of his corvettes, are first vin numbers / last ones !! he is from canal winchester, oh....he had a mecum auction in november , to sell off some of his collection... i dont know what sold or what he might still own.. a very nice man, and family !!

in reading about this 2004/c5 last zo6 , something seems ,not correct.!! i think a mistake/fact was made ? no magnatic select ride was offered, in any c5/z06.. i owned a c/5 2002 and a 2004 zo6 [carbon fiber hood] chromed wheels ,2004 lemans blue special edition.. all the zo6 c/5 came with, fe-45 system including the 04's which was their own designation, [stiffer rear spring/larger front stabilizer bar/revised front camber /negative/ to improve cornering ! no other system was available !!!! i also had a 2002 regular corvette /50th anniv. conv., that had it with that anniv. package/magnatic select ride .. it was really not for handling, but gave a very smooth ride /like a caddy..

actually my 50th anniv corvette conv, was a 2003 !. i was there when built / assembled in july/ 2002.. as most of us know, the corvette factory [in bowling green,ky] like a lot of other car/truck/ plant factories take their vacation, about the same time.. after that summer vacation is over, start building vehicles for the next model/year.. here is a rare fact,! gm did for the 2003 model corvette / 50th anniv. models coupe or conv.. it was to bid/monies/ dollars ,for vin # biild number.. it got wild !! big monies/#50/#53/#2003, etc. most of these very special vin's were like $20,000 plus, the cost of the corvette.. did anybody remember that ?

did a little more checking ,no c/5 or c/6[ zo6] was ever made at the factory with that magnetic adj. /select ride.!!.. but now 2011/ zo6 is the first one shares /same as zr1 setup, with it.. it sure makes the new zo6/zr1 ride a lot better[for street] when not on the track.. another fact/offical time - pure factory stock/ 2007 zo6 ran the ring ,[nbr/nurburging] at 7:43 !! i thought that article said 2004 zo6 was close to 8 minutes, or hair under..? not sure that was offical time ,for the 2004 zo6 ?
