Mark Kittrell's '67 proves that looks can be deceiving--even in a factory-correct CorvetteThe year 1967 was a wild time for Corvettes. Originally intended to be the first year of production for the new shark design, 1967 instead turned out to be the final year of the Sting Rays, with what many have called the "cleanest" design for any of the C2 offerings. While the lines on the '67 may have been cleaner, the production of them included plenty of events that were anything but.

i owned a 1967 big block 427 hp 435 horses[ 3 carbs ] ! was a conv. had lot of options like /tinted glass / ps./pb/ 4.11 posi rear/ close gears in tranny/ lots of torque !! had the factory side pipes /special supension think was f-41 ? came with heavy springs/ and shocks, sway bars, etc.. was a real beast to drive on the street !!/ big blocks were know to run hot !, had to keep moving ! tried lots of thing to keep cool/ most did not work at low/slow speeds. one time stalled out in slow moving parade / large factory side pipes/ melted the battery ! wow , no more parades ! would also would load up/ foul the spark plugs, no unleaded gas then/ only thing to do was to beat up as much as you wanted, in the gears / higher rpm's to try to keep clean plugs.. i tricked up with heavy sway bar in rear /to win big block champ for 2 years . was not easy beating those 1970 454 big block guys ! i did a out side re-paint in factory color/ including the color on top of hood.!.lots of small block guys installed the big block hood they looked, so kool !! trust me newer corvettes are a lot better !! rkvette
