my dad has an M6 04 and advertised HP and tq is 350/375. but i would guess it would run about 320-330 hp and 345-350 tq

i think that they generally dyno similar to what f-bodies do. So an auto would be anywhere from 290-320ish. 'vettes really don't have much more power even though GM says they do. F-bodies are underrated and make very similar #s.

Rule of thumb is 12%-15% drivetrain loss. Going on that
    345 - (12%-15%) = 303-293 hp. / 330-318 tq.

About even. It will depend on the driver. An LS1 Fbody (stock) will give you a good run for your money. I would give the edge to the Fbody

i raced a c5 hard top ( no clue if it was an auto or manual or what gears it had in it if it was an auto) from a 60 highway roll on to about 120...this was in my 99 6 speed z28 ..borla and lid were the only mods...VERY slowly caught and passed him around 120 ..maybe gained 1.5 car lenths between 60 and 120 then he quickly shut down as he saw he was gettin beat.........do u have 323s or 273s in your vette???????? 323s would be quite a bit faster im sure

How is a HEAVIER car with the SAME motor (hp/tq) be faster than the lighter one? Gear ratios aside.. assuming the same ratio.

    1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 5.2 13.70
    2001 Chevrolet Corvette 4.5 13.10

    (data from http://www.ssmoparmuscle.com/speedcomp.htm)

"run for your money" yes... but edge out.. I don't agree.. (stock vs. stock)

im just telling u what happend......thats all...i agree with u that a lighter car with better aerodynamics and suspension with the same horsepower and gear ratios is FASTER........LID, exhaust and a 6 speed made my car faster than whatever it was i raced in that vette........im assuming bone stock with 273s based on the outcome
