    '02 - '04 Vette Advice

My Pops is considering an '02 - '04, I was just wondering if there is anything yall can tell us look out for, any bugs or issues with a certain year or model, etc. I know there were problems with the transaxle initially (right?), but were they worked out by the '02's? I'd like him to find an '02/'03 ZO6, but we'll see... I think he'd prefer a 6-speed over an auto. Any advice/help/warnings would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks guys.

Watch out for the steering wheel locking up. ask if it has had any recalls done on the sterring column lock. Hopefully try to buy one with a lock bypass installed already. Trust me it sucks to be stranded when you read out says "service column lock" and you cant go over 2 mph or it kills the engine.
also test drive them and do real tight turns in a parking lot and listen for poping in the rear end. Also watch out for the oil pressure gage going wacko (high readings). That happends in a lot of 2000-2002 models.
