if i flush this and then it turns milky brown again in about a year...

what does that mean exactly? that its a gasket leak in the motor or something?

i dont know much about how coolant systems function

Could be a head gasket cracked head or cracked block but usually the oil gets milky not the coolant but the way that looked you might be seeing it again anyway because flushing it prolly won't get all the shit out tge first time I have seen it once or twice like that without anything wrong with it... Somebody could have put stop leak in and it started looking like that

During the flushing process, do you clean out the coolant overflow and drop the block drains? Do you use tap water to refill? 50-50 mix? Power steering cooler on the car?

haha. for most of you, prolly dont think thats that big of a deal. i never worked on cars until this camaro.. so i kind of had to learn as i went

so could i take this to a normal shop and they could handle this?

does someone second konigandy6's statement i might have oil leaking into my coolant?
If you had oil, you most likely would see some sort of oiley sheen on top, like in the gulf right now, when you take the radiator cap off, engine cold of course. Those coolant level dipsticks are exposed to air, unlike the coolant in the engine, I've seen many look just like that in my career and those engines did not have any issue with oil contamination.

But it is past time to get your stuff flushed, make sure they whoever does it uses Dexcool. Or your favorite, expensive long life antifreeze will work as well.

We have 2 machines at work, one for normal green and the other for long-life/Dexcool. You should ask the shop about that, since there is always residual in the bottom of the flush machine. Hey, it's your $$$, spend wisely.
