    Z/28 trouble

    test test

My Z/28 has been having issues. On the highway it is as if I hit the fuel cut off. On a rural road it will stall completely then not start for a day or a hour.

Yesterday I changed the fuel filter (original 120,000 miles) let it idle for 30 minutes then went to the car wash. Got home and it stalled in the driveway. Wouldn't fire back up. A hour later it did.

yeah, I would start with verifying fuel pressure. You can get a gauge at most parts stores for less than $20.

Exactly. Then just take the black plastic cap off the end of the schrader valve on the fuel rail and screw on the fuel pressure gauge.

With the key on, you should have 58-60PSI. If its below 58PSI, you're probably going to need a new pump.

Wierd, I thought the fuel pump either worked at 100% or didn't at all.

Nope, not always. Sometimes you can get intermittent and/or low pressure.
