they have the same clutch as stock. If it's new it will be about a quarter of travel from the top to the floor. The more worn it is the closer to the floor it gets.

How many miles on the car/current clutch?

31K 2002 I took my first TA 4 a test drive. WOW. The first thing that put up a red flag was how hi the pedal went before it engaged. I have a CDL so the grab point is much lower. That freaked me out when it was hi. I wasn't sure if it was bad or if that is the way it need to be
I want to pick up the car but if it has a clutch issue that is another thing.
Thanks so much for the info

With good hydraulics and a good clutch the pedal engagement should be near the top. With the pedal beginning to disengage the clutch up top you have all the travel to push the fluid to press on the pressure plate to allow the clutch to fully disengage. When the pedal is getting low it means that you are moving less fluid and the pressure plate is not pulling as far away as it should. I would prefer to find one of these cars with a higher pedal.
