    1996 Trans am

    Working on LT1 Right now!! NEED HELP

    I have a 96 trans am LT1 , and i am changing the cap and rotor on the opti, i need to know how to get it off, i have the water pump off, and vaccum motor, and all the brackets, and i am at the opti now, so do i need to take the harmonic balancer off too? and if i do , what if i accidentally turn in some will it throw the timing off? so please help i am waiting on this reply right now to continue!!!

    Yep, you gotta take the balancer off of the hub. Mark it so you know which way it came off.
