Windshield Wipers
Any one ever heard of a problem with the windshield wipers not stopping in the correct position when running under delay?
Instead of stopping at the normal spot a few degrees above parked, my wipers stop at the normal delay stop point then move back up a few more degrees and stop right in the middle of my windshield. They park like normal, and they reach their highest point just fine, just don't stop under delay mode properly. I have replace the wiper motor twice and have the exact same problem. My 94 Camaro didn't have this problem and it supposedly has the same model wiper motor. I currently have a 93 Formula BTW.
Any thoughts?

It won't be in the motor it will be in the controle module that regulated teh speed and delay, there some issues with a limited amount of modules over those years 92-95 i think across the GM line.

Do you happen to know where that control module is? I looked in my chiltons manual, but it appears to be in the motor itself.
Thax for the reply!

i know its close to it, on my dads suburban it is on the firewall in the engine copatment, it may be attached to the motor its self, you should be able to find it by back tracing the wires from the motor.

I had a similar problem on another car. The module was a separate box up inside the dash. I found it by tracing down the clicking made by the relays. It turned out to be cold solder joints on the PCB. Easy to fix but hard to find.
Please post up the fix and location of the module if you find it.

Yea those cold joints caused all sorts of issues, onmy dads suburban the wipers would come on by them selves or not work entirely. Even park in the odd spot like you described.

I quick call to my local GM dealer revealed that I can purchase a new replacement control module that will fix the issue. The module is attached to the wiper motor assembly. Soon as I get out of work today I will order one them and hopefully post a success this weekend.
Thanks!

It took a bit longer then I expected, but I finally got my wiper problem fixed. It wasn't the control module or the motor, it just needed to be aligned properly. I ended up taking it to a local shop and upon following the service manual installation procedures, it worked fine for them...
So, problem solved
Thanks for everyone's help!
