Window off track
I just bought my z28 camaro a couple months ago and was told from the previous owner the driver's window is off track but will still go up and down.
is this a easy fix and could a glass repair shop be able to fix this or will i have to go to the dealership?
Also anyone know how much this would cost to fix?

If it was off track it wouldnt go up or down. If it goes up and down and doesnt have any kool sounds then i would let it be or you can pop off your door panel and take a look for yourself.
J2001 SS, Its not the car its the Driver that matters....

ok,took door panel off and didn't notice anything and no sounds when window goes up and down.
since it is not off track what would the problem be if when the window is going down it comes out of that small triangle closest to the side mirror and when going back up it does the same thing.

Are your plastic retainers ok?
Check for anything causing the window to bind or flex, could have bent the regulator arm.
Hard to say without being there.
Got passenger window problems?

So long as you can identify your problem, then, YES, you should be able to fix it! Dealer has all the little knic-nack parts

This is a common issue with the driver side. The actual part that attaches to the window that has the little wheels that ride in the track (does that make sense??) breaks. I picked up the part at a salvage for $20.00 and had a glass shop install it for like $30.00 or something. If you roll the window down half way and then move it around and look you will see where it is broken.

I don't know the name or part number. The part is literally the part that is riveted to the glass that has wheels on it that roll in the track. If you go to the dealer first they should be able to show you a blow up of the inside of the door and you can spot the part.
