Will a MSD box help on 77 camaro?
I have a 77 camaro with a 350 bored 60 over with 10 to 1 Flat tops a rpm intake and a 750 Holley vac.510/510 lift comp cam. vortec heads and a Edelbrock Hei Dist. With their 45,000 volt coil. Will I see better performance if I buy the MSD series 6 box. It sells for 185.00 dollars, is it worth putting on the car. The car runs great but always looking for more. Thanks.

Couldn't hurt, every bit counts and added ability for tuning and such will help with further upgrades.

MSD boxes are a great addition. Run them on every car here, and install them on customer cars all the time. Never had an issue with them.
I prefer the digital 6 or 7 depending. But,,,,
For a fun street car the 6AL will do the trick. You may not see HP gains on something so mild in your case, but the added multispark discharge at low rpms and the benifit of a rev limiter is always a plus.

Red- 1998 Camaro SS
I added a MSD 6AL to my 79 Corvette. I did not see any horsepower gains, but the car idled much smoother and had way better throttle response.

I had a beautiful black 89 trans am GTA with a Lingenfelter L98 that I built myself. Car had 51 thousand original miles until some A** blew threw a stoplight and killed my car, very sad day. But, I originally had the stock coil and ignition on the car, and then I changed it over to all MSD parts. Billet distributor, blaster coil and a 6A box. I can’t say that there was a noticeable power difference, but the car did idle better and over all ran better. I did however have a stock radiator with a 160-degree thermostat, during the summer time when it was hot out the car would run hotter especially with the AC on. I never got around to changing the radiator to a better piece; the car was totaled before I got the chance. Just keep in mind that the car will run slightly hotter, and I would recommend cheaper copper core spark plugs with a larger gap. Other than that 6a box was a great addition to my car, defiantly will work well with a flat top piston with a good quench area in the head, such as what you have! just a thought with your cam,if your engine produces power at higher rpm bands? Why not concider the second strike box? Might be more tunable depending on the duration of you camshaft and where you need the added spark. Remember reading about it somewhere, seams like another alternative.
