with wifes 2005 grand am....

Well it's a 2005 Grand Am GT with ram air.........and every once in a while the car while hot and while we are decelerating will surge, you can feel it and see it on the tac.....why is it doing this

and what should I check first? any help would be appreciated ~Chris

Mine does it too.

Upped the line pressure on the tranny, and it went away. There is some module (costs like $25, but labor is $600) inside the tranny that starts to go out.
Although mine does the surging under light load...like up a hill or something.

would this module be easy to replace myself? Also does this mean that module is actually going out?

Not necessarily.

And the tranny has to be removed (hence the $600 labor) to get to that module.

My wifes 05 grand am se was doing that and on hers it turned out to be a bad fuel injector, weird because it never threw any codes or ever detected a misfire.

I was thinking maybe a fuel injector, that is what it feels like. Maybe some fuel injector cleaner will fix it right up. Mr Luos, how did you up the line pressure, i'm assuming you need have to have hptuners or something correct?
