You know I have had the same problem only thing is mine turns off on its own. It usually turns on when I go visit my bother in Las Cruces, NM. When I turn the car off then on again it goes away. I'm not sure whay upgrades you have on the motor but I personally think its from less vacuum from the cam. Or maybe from when i installed the Dana S-60 which was really when the light came on. I hope someone chimes in on this.
I dont know how to help sorry other than maybe checking the rearend sensor.

Few things to check out....
First - Have you recently changed tire size? Offset in tire size from front to back can cause this.
Second - make sure all of your ABS sensor connections at the wheels are plugged in and have not come loose. Also, make sure they are clean. over time the sensor can get dirty.
Third - If you know someone with a higher end scanner, such as those at a dealership or one a mechanic might use, you can scan the ABS code to get more info. Unfortunately the scanners at places like Pepboys and Autozone do not work for ABS, only OBDII.
The last thing to check is possibly a kinked wire.
Most cases it is a faulty ABS sensor, you just need to find which one.

Gonna have to have it scanned, Although you need a ABS scanner to pull the code. It could be one of the wheel sensors took a poo on ya, Dirty sensor, loose wiring harness, one or more of the reluctor wheels are broke. Low brake fluid.
Best way to pinpoint is to have it scanned...
"blue01", When you installed your rear did it have provisions for ABS?
Did they install the sensors correctly?
Also ABS is great but dont worry, your car will run perfectly fine, The only differnece is when you slam on the brakes your wheels will lock up and wont pulsate like they would with the ABS functioning properly
J2001 SS, Its not the car its the Driver that matters....

I had mine come on once when I blew a buld in one of the rear tail lights. Changed the buld out and it fixed it. That was on a 97 V6.

You know I'm not real sure about that, but when I ordered it from strange I thought I ordered it with the abs and all that so it would still work. I need to check it though. I know for sure I got it with the Traction control to work as well. I remember installing the sensors that go through the inside of the rears hubs.
