Where is everyone buying their Seafoam???
Local auto chain stores???? GM top engine cleaner???? I have noticed most people refer to it just as "seafoam" but I haven't seen that on the shelves. Thanks.

I have mine bottled in fine crystal from a secluded spring tucked back in the hills of France. It's then wrapped in the finest linens and trasported over here on the concorde. A limo meets the concorde at the airport and is police escorted directly to my house.
either that or I just go to Advanced auto or autozone and pick up a bottle.

from what ive head you're not supposed to run it in your oil for long anyways, like for 100 miles or so before you change the oil

Seafoam doesnt do much more than make a smokeshow. It wont do anything for Carbon removal. You might wanna try AutoRx.

I would also like to know where you get this information from, because everyone that I sell this to has nothing but good things to say about it. I have also used it in every car that I own and have experienced smoother idle, better throttle response and better fuel mileage. I would like to read what report you have that disproves what Seafoam does.

if you really want to see the results, im currently running my own test. on my daily driver 1996 camry i had a leaky valve cover gasket. so i pulled it only to discover what horrors lied inside. below are the three before-i-did-anything photos. the two following are after i manually cleaned some parts. this spring im planning on popping off the cover again to see how several treatments of seafoam worked (or not worked). these photos were taken about 20k miles ago.
after manual cleaning
on a side note, i dont blame the car for this mess. i bought the car used so my blame lies with the previous owner not doing proper maintenance.

yeah, definitely a maintenance issue. It also took a while to get to that point. Post up the results after you check it again. I'd be curious to see how it turns out.

The sludge is actually due to the poor design of the engine. There has been a huge problem with Toyotas and sludged up motors, in fact the problem is so widespread that Toyota has finally admitted the engines are defective and will repair sludge motors that are still under warranty.
If you just clean the visible areas and change the oil, the problem will simply reoccur. The only way to completely remove the sludge is to pull the affected components, soak them in parts cleaner until no sludge remains, reassemble the engine, and run only fully synthetic oil and change it every 3,000 miles.

the recall doesnt cover my car. for whatever reason my engine is pretty much the same from 1992-1996. then late 1996 there were some minor changes and that is the motor that has this acknowledged sludge problem. i know several people with the same generation camry as mine, yet mine is the only one to look like this. oh well, she still runs ultra smooth and quiet so im not too worried about it.

It's quiet because that thick layer of sludge deadens the noise
On a more serious note,,,,that has got to be the nastiest motor I have ever seen the insides of. If Seafoam cleans the rest of that out it would truely be impressive,,,please keep me posted. Thanks for those pics,,,they are very elightening as to how poor maintainance can affect a car

I see seafoam thats injected right into the intake manifold and others that dump in the gas tank.
Anyone have a favorite??? It would seem the gas tank version would be geared more towards the injectors, intake valves.
Anyone have good things to say about the gas tank version????

Its all the same
You can either pour the can in the oil to clean the internals of the engine, pour it in the gas tank to clean fuel system/injectors, or pour it into a vacuum line with the engine running to clean the combustion chambers/intake/valves.
However, you can buy Seafoam in both an aerosol can as well as a regular pour can.
