What to watch for in a 98...

I am seriously looking at a 98 Trans Am. Are there any real reasons that I shouldn't consider purchasing a 98? I know it was the first year they placed the ls1 in camaros and t/a's and the 2nd year of its existance. Any major problems I should look for in a 98 that were fixed for later years? Thanks

I've got a 98 and it has been flawless. I personally think 98 was one of the best years for this generation. They made some changes after 98 like the temp gauge and smaller injectors and different cam that make 98 a little special. Only things I've fixed that broke since I got the car was Power Steering, Clutch and Rear end bearings. Got 165,000 miles.

I love my 98! This car has NEVER left me sitting and considering I go to the track with it a moderate amount that is impressive. Mine also now has 135K on it and running strong. You should not worry!

Just bought myne.. Ran into a steal. Car only had 48k miles and is a genuine WS6. Now it has 51k miles.. Not bad for a car that is 8 years old.

All you guys with high mileage, you have never replaced the fuel pump?

Nope... I don't buy gas at any of the old crap shops.. Only from QT.. Which around here really just out classes anything in CA. They actually spray down the concrete were the pumps are and you park a couple times a day... Spotless everywhere. But no no fuel pump here. buddy of mine who works at a shop is quite impressed.

I have a 98 and totally love it and have never had a problem. It only has 19,000 miles on it. Have never had any problems and would not trade it for anything. Buy it!!!
