    Question What todo/Stroker info

Getting ready to pull the LS2 427 out of my Ws6 todo some upgrades. While its out I have a stock LS1 just sitting in the garage and got a wild hair to stroke it and run it in the WS6 till I get the 427 back together. Without going over the top what are my options? The 427 is my over the top motor, just want a little something to play with that sounds good and runs strong. all suggestions wanted.

    Forget stroking it IMO.

How much money you have? Give some other info on maybe just your spending limit.

Did some more ready and i agree. Think im going to stay away from stroking just lookin at head and cam packages/ or even having my stock heads ported with a nice cam and call it a day. Not looking to spend much 2-3K

    Here Spins.

Guys. There is no BEST Cam.

There are some things that need to be changed. Obviously, Springs are just a MUST. Just in case you didnt know. IMO, PR's are also a most. If you not buying assembled heads, Might as well throw some new valve seals on there also. Read that first.

    2. Buy new heads ready to go. Save time, get this thing on the road.
    3. Many cams are streetable. The 228R really is a great power cam and awesome street manners. Get it on a 112 for your 'choppy idle'.

The difference between those two heads is obvious. Ones a 5.3 liter and ones a 5.7. Debate could go on for years on which one to use. The 5.3 will up the compression. 5.7 are what you have now.

The 228R might not be the cam for you. It does perform great, with great streetabilty. Never heard any street driving complaints with a good tune. The PRC heads are good heads. This setup would run you 2000 or so. Probably more. But under 3000. You could just buy these heads, PRC... or if you wanna go all out and get every HP... the 205 AFR's will not do you wrong.

The cam is entirely up to you. Me personally, I would go a tad larger. Low 230's, and on a 114. But thats ME. You really need to know where and when you want the power. Call Comp, Cam Motion, TSx. I dont like calling TSx for cam opinions, they have good parts, but IMO.... thats all they are good for. Just parts. Not cam advice. COMP and Cam Motion will be able to help you.
