It kicks the car down a gear when the pedal is mashed. Goes from TB to tranny.

I didnt think the 4l60e used these...

Get yourself a photobucket acount and post up some pics if you can. What year is it? I'm kinda with Josh on this one. If it had one there will be a slot with a hole @ the end of the groove for the cable end in the throttle cam/linkage. If it dont have a kickdown it could possibly be reprogramed to shift properly. Had mine done a good while ago, but I'm "fly by wire" no cables @ all.

Anyway here is where you can post pics (free) to use here @ the site in threads......

Yep 700r4 definely had them. my 2 3rd gens all had them. Not sure what the LTs' had my 95 was a 3.4L and had one. Never messed with an LT f-body. But my 4l60e in my 01 definetly does not have it. i figured Josh would be right but was'nt sure myself about the LT.

There is no passing gear cable in that year, it's probably the trans that needs to be rebuilt. Either he knows it and is trying to pass it on and hoping the buyer doesn't figure it out before buying it or he just doesn't know how that trans works and a friend told him it's probably a kick-down cable like in the old cars.
