    What is an LS1 ???

    I currently have an old 82 Z28. I'm looking at buying a newer Z28 built in 1999. I keep seeing all this LS1 stuff. What exactly makes an LS1 engine? Are they all aluminum? What should I look for. Are there any tutorials?
