What kind of chip do you have?
If its like one of those ebay ones that you hook up to the intake, go ahead and take em out casue u only going to blow the motor one day.
Get sub frame connectors so you dont twist the car.
Might also want to get an intake if you dont have one yet, also tuning helps a great amount, thats going to be the cheapest things you can do without going into some internals such as getting it cammed.

i would say go with a ls1 swap ..lol cam and rockers with suporting mods.. lt1 do not have that much lift if i where i would go full roller cam and a set of 1.7 rockers i i think 1.6 are stock .. and u might want in to lt4 stuff and see waht u can to about a intake manafold.. the key to hp is air flow ..

09 EclipseGT 75 Chevy 4x4- 2001 Trans-Am 13 F-XT
Suspension and tires were my best thing so far. I was spinning like crazy with the stock setup not to mention the car looked like a 4x4 and cornered like a 1976 full size station wagon. Maybe not much for HP, but speed comes with traction.

Traction is a good thing in racing, thats why my old Syclone owned the streets stop light to stop light many of times.

That cc306 cam is a popular swap for the LT1. Ported LT1 heads can make great power if the porter knows what they are doing. Another option I actually prefer is to go with one of the aftermarket heads offered,,,,,AFR makes heads for the LT1 as well as Edelbrock. They flow some great numbers and would work great with the cc306.
I didn't see cold air intake listed. Getting rid of the restrictive intake system and going with one from Moroso for instance, has always had good results from the LT1 crowd.
Another easy mod for the LT1 is a smooth elbow without the noise depression tube hanging down. I use the 1LE elbow which eliminates this tube and it was still available through GM last time I checked. Or you could go with the many aftermarket pieces,,,I have seen them made of aluminum,,,and they look pretty clean when installed. Really helps the transition of air,,,making that hard 90 degree turn.
As far as a tune, that will be a tough one. Since you have a 93 I believe that was the last year that used a chip,,,,and not many tuners want to even fool with that. As far as I know the only option would be store bought chips,,,and they are marginal at best,,,,and definately won't work with all those bolts on's you are planning. A custom tune is your best bet at this point. You may have to check around your area for a source,,,or maybe you have something lined up?

I have a 97 Z with the LT1, in addition to my 98 LS1...I'd invest in a good port and polish job. Even though machine work doesn't come cheap (you can do it yourself), the best way to make hp, is to increase flow...and that is all in the heads.
