What to do next? Budget is 15k

01' WS6, automatic transmission, 19k miles. These are my current mods.....

    -SI4 Cam 228/228 .588/.588 113+2
-Kooks Long Tube Headers 1 7/8"
    -Kooks 3" Offroad Y-Pipe
    -Borla Exhaust
    -Yank Super Stock 3200 Stall
    -Pac Beehive Springs
    -Chrome Moly Pushrods
    -B&M Trans Cooler
    -Underdrive Pulley
    -Air Lid
    -Nitto Drag Radials

The car dynos at 390 RWHP. I need some advice and feedback on what to do next. My goal is to be at 600 RWHP. I need to definitely upgrade to a 12 bolt rear end. My budget is about $15,000. Procharger will be final add once I get the supporting mods. What should I build on, and upgrade in the meantime?

Consider the upgraded rear towards my 15k budget. Should I get heads? If so what kind? And also should I upgrade my bottom end, along with maybe a high performance transmission? I'd love to get feedback, on what to work on next.

    Thanks

Take a look at my mods in my signature. I don't see anything listed regarding suspension. That would be a priority to me. You won't be disappointed going with a Procharger
Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

Subframe connectors, suspension pieces and a rear. With that kind of power you will also need a built 4L60E, or swap out to something different. Even with all this you should have plenty of $$ left over in the budget for the power adder.

You'll want to swap out those Nitto Drag Radials for a big boy tire as well.

Thanks for the feedback. Rear end and suspension will be on my list. I'll probably upgrade some internal parts as well. What about a driveshaft?

Also looking at a Fast 102 intake, but not sure if it's worth it. I read 25 HP gain is possible from a FAST 102. I really want to get heads, so I'll look into head work too.

You can only run about 8-9psi on a stock bottom end. With that said, yes, you'll need at least forged connecting rods and pistons. Up to you if you want to upgrade the crank. You'll see how quickly 15K goes. I have 10,500 just in parts with my Procharger setup. You'll want the upgraded Aster tensioner as well as a FMIC, not the twins the kit comes with. I'd also highly suggest methanol. Alky makes a nice kit.

Build the suspension and drivetrain to handle the power...THEN add power. You don't want to be stranded on the side of the road somewhere.

I opted for the PST Aluminum drive shaft. It's rated for 1200hp.

Good feedback, thanks. I'll upgrade my drivetrain for sure, along with the suspension. You're right, 15k goes quick. I'll probably get a forged bottom end too.

What do you think about a ported FAST 102 intake?

Why are you against the twin coolers? I understand the FMIC is better, but how so?

I installed a Moser 12 bolt in our car and a PST driveshaft as well. Due to the larger housing on the 12 bolt, the new driveshaft was right around 5/8" shorter than the stock one, if I recall correctly.

They are not as effective and will not support that power level, or room to grow if you ever decide to down the road. Many tuners I know have dyno'd cars with the twins and say they do not recommend using them over around 450.

I'm running the stock LS6 intake still. The FAST is a nice piece, but with FI, it isn't as important to get a bigger intake as with a NA motor. I've seen a lot of FAST intakes blow apart with Nitrous so I don't particularly trust them with any form of FI. Not saying it would be an issue though. It's a lot of money for the little gain you'll see from it.

    Good point....

Thanks for all of your replies and advice. Also I might add, I'm not one to beat on my car, just step on it occasionally.

As for Gauges, Air/Fuel ratio and Boost is all you really need right?

I opted for fuel pressure, a/f ratio, and vacuum/boost. You want a vacuum gauge with boost.

Ok thanks. I'll see how my funds look next summer, I might push it past the 15k and go all out.

I'll keep you posted on my build if you're intersted? Thanks man, I really appreciate your knowledge and feedback.

I did air/fuel, fuel pressure and transmission temperature for add on gauges. I also run a Hyper Tech which allows me to see everything else - but usually have it set for coolant temp, air temp, knock retard and one other readout that I rotate.

Wanted to ask you, how is your transmission? Will the stock 4L60E hold up? Or would you advise a high performance one?
