Well I've come across a thought..
I currently have the magnaflow catback, but i can't decide if i want to ditch it for either corsa/borla. will there be much of a difference in gains/performance? Or-- should I just keep the magnaflow...........?

any gains..if any...won't be noticeable. Magnaflow flows really good...is it too quiet for you? Headers will make it louder...or just get a cutout

I agree with you guys. I do like borla and corsa but theres no sense in getting a different exhaust system if you dont need it. If it is a loudness issue get the long tubes. I'm sure your planning on making high HP and if so your going to need them anyway.

Yes I have lt's and a cutout, but it seems to quiet for my taste at idle. it does sound good at wot though.

Keep the Magnaflow and go with the electric cutout. There will come times when you'll be glad you have the option to be "quiet" (relatively speaking, that is).

If you're dead set on getting a new cat back and like the old 'muscle car' sound at idle and thru entire throttle range - then the GMMG chambered exhaust is the ONLY one to buy!
I have the GMMG with JetHot Hooker LT's, JetHot Y-Pipe, and no cats - the sound is awesome and can't be compared. It was THE best $$ I spent on the car. Easy install and I can't get enough compliments as to the sound - everyone wants to know what exhaust I have and where to buy.
BTW, if you go with the GMMG make sure you opt for the SS Oval tips.

i've been looking at gmmg...how loud is it? I live in an apartment...don't really want everyone complaining. For 700 bucks I bet it sounds good...

It's not as loud as open headers - but it's loud - in a very nice sort of way! If you remember the old Z28's from the 60's with the chambered exhaust - then you have an idea of the sound.
I use my car mostly for shows and weekend driving so the noise level doesn't bother me. I'm sure when I start it up early on a Sunday morning the neighbors love it! Once in OD the noise level quiets down to where you can withstand long trips but driving thru town, with a hi stall verter - the noise just echoes off the buildings. Never had a cop pull me over for it though - in fact, I was told by quite a few that they loved the sound!
The cost was $700+ including the optional oval tips - but a new Corsa/Borla is about the same price.
If you do a search there is a website called LS1sounds.co (I think) that has clips a various types of exhaust on out cars (including GMMG).
