Weird rattling sound near redline?

Took the new WS6 out yesterday and noticed a strange rattling sound coming from what sounded like the front drivers side wheel area, I'd compare it to rocks in an aluminum can type sound. You can hear it starting around 5400rpm and it continues all the way until redline and shifts out (A4). It gets faster as the rpm's climb. It happened once, so I wanted to see if it was going to do it again, but the next time I hit it, it seemed fine. Later that day though, it did it again. Is this engine related? What does this sound like to you guys? The car is GM certified and has a 3 month/3000 mile warranty, so whatever it may be it will be fixed. I wanted to get a little insight on what it could be before taking it back to dealer. Any help is appreciated.

Congrats, you have just discovered detonation lol. Also called Ping, the gas is ignited before the piston is fully compressed. What octane do you use? Mods?

The car is 100% bone stock, and I recently filled up with premium fuel, not sure of the octane rating (at least 91). Can the dealer do anything for it?

Any chance there is a K&N filter in it? The dealer will prolly just say there is nothing wrong...

No, plain white filter.

hrm, well what you describe sounds like detonation (knock)... not sure what to tell you since you stock.. http://www.misterfixit.com/deton.htm found this thou, maybe someone else will chime in
