    Weight Question

No I'm not fat, but I think my car is! My recently purchased 99 Z28 has a Xenon body kit, a rather large spoiler, a huge sub box with two 12's...my question is, how much extra weight am I lugging around like this? If I was to lose the body kit, put the stock spoiler back on, is it really worth it to maybe be a tenth faster but look like every other Camaro on the road?

I tried looking on google, but I couldn't find any concrete numbers, like x amount of pounds equals y amount of acceleration.

Anyone have any info on this?

Oh and I don't race or anything, it's a daily driver, but if/when I actually get a chance to race someone, I don't want to be TOO much slower because of the extra weight.

Generally speaking, on a 12-14 second car, 100lbs remove should take 1/10th of a second off your 1/4 mile ET. Also, generally speaking, each additional 10hp should drop ET by 1/10.

Therefore, you can either remove if you deem necessary, or add a lid or catback exhaust to try and gain back whats lost to the extra weight.

Our cars are pretty heavy to begin with, so I don't think that the stuff you got bolted on will make a noticable difference. But I could be wrong, I don't know how much that stuff could actually weigh.

I would leave it all on personally. Unless you drag race every weekend, I would rather keep the car looking different than every other Camaro out there.
