Warranty Suggestions
I recently purchased an 02 WS6 M6 T-tops, it was a certified used car and came with a 3000 mile GM warranty. I wanted to know if there were any things that I should look at or have checked before the warranty expires?
Thanks

YJ- 04 GTO M6
Fuel pump and window motors is the most common parts in Fbodys that seem to go out.

I have an 02 Camaro that i bought new-it now has about 32,000 trouble free miles. One of the door speakers went out ( I blast the stereo from time to time)--and one of the fog lights burnt out (leave them on all the time the headlights are on). That's it for problems on this car. I bought a 98 new in late 97-went around 35,000 miles with it (4 years). Had a fog light burn out-that's it for that car. In all a fairly trouble free car in my experience-hope yours is the same.

Definitely the window motors and headlight motors. Both of my fog lights blew out somewhere around 110k miles, so I'd expect yours to last awhile but if it's a deal where you can get whatever you want checked/replaced for free, then have at it. Let's see, what else. My fuel pump is still fine, and is the original unless it was replaced before 72k miles, which is possible. Oh, and I don't know if your taillight lenses have the problem mine does and I've seen on a few other birds with one side being darker than the other, but that would be worth looking at. Mine actually has some leak somewhere on one side because there's condensation inside it, but it's hard to tell if that has anything to do with it being darker on the lenses.
Oh, and make sure all of your window/door seals are good. I.E. take it to a car wash (yeah, yeah, I used to only hand wash mine but not having a regular place to wash it sucks) and blast the hell out of it and see if anything leaks. And if you have leather go over all of it to see if any of the seams are busted or getting worn. You probably won't find any with it being newer, but checking wouldn't hurt.
Good luck.

Being a 6-speed i'd take a close look at the rear and listen for any strange noises. Hell i'd even say I heard it growling just to be able to get the rear rebuilt on warranty.

I agree with the rearend for sure. Listen for ticking in the valvetrain just in case the previous owner beat it up a little and bend a pushrod. Easy fix, but good to check also

Thanks
Thanks for all the suggestions. I did notice a slight leak in the window seal and the dealer is suppose to be taking care of that today. I thought that I had an alingment issue, but new tires seemed to take care of the problem. I still think that it is sad that a GM dealer sells a Certified Used car with tires that needed replaced within 2000 miles. Granted, I realized that they were worn when I bought the car.
Thanks,
Happy WS6 owner
